Wow, it has been awhile. This year has been a time of deep loss, soul searching and healing for me. I've been working with design clients, but haven't had too much energy to blog about anything. But all that is changing now. Because a beautiful thing is happening through this healing process - the launching of The Home You Love.
I've had several versions of a book in my head and on paper for the past eight years. But it never felt truly right. And the timing never felt truly right. And I felt like I couldn't share anything because it wasn't done yet. But I'm not waiting anymore because I feel in my heart that the timing is right, and the project is right. Done or not, here it comes! I'm throwing the need for perfectionism completely out the window, and am actually looking forward to having all of you join me in this creative process.
So, let me welcome you to The Home You Love: A Discovery Guidebook. This is a book/social media project designed to help you Create a Home That Looks Good, Feels Great and Nurtures Your Soul. It is currently a project-in-the-making. I am writing and sharing now on Instagram and Facebook, and, of course, here on my blog. I don't know how long it will take to complete my book, but I am making a commitment to myself - and to all of you out there who are seeking a way to bring more love into your homes - to make this happen. To follow this through to the end, whatever that looks like.
I posted this on Facebook yesterday, one day after the presidential election, and I think it pretty much sums up why I'm doing this project...and why the timing is right.
One of my clients texted me first thing this morning. She has had a difficult year, and the election has been particularly challenging for her. She now feels a need more than ever to "dive into decor"...to finish home projects so that she can have more of a sense of stability in her life.
Design can do that. Our homes can help us heal. I am so grateful to work with clients like this. It allows me to be in service to others on a very deep level. It makes my work very clear. And this is exactly why I've launched The Home You Love.
Beacause we need love right now. Lots of it. And we can create it in and through our homes.
I hope you'll join me on Facebook and Instagram, and I invite you to subscribe to my blog, if you haven't already. I also hope you'll join me in a commitment to bring more love and less fear into this world. If you don't know where to start, you can begin with your home.
